World Title match Schwarzman – Georgiev in
June 2009 in the Netherlands
The
Executive Board of the FMJD is happy to be able to announce that the
World
Title match international draughts between world Champion Alexander
Schwarzman
and challenger Alexander Georgiev will be played in the Netherlands
from June 6
to June 21, 2009.
The match
will be organized in the Province of Overijssel in the cities of
Enschede and
Hengelo by an organizing committee with chairman Paul van der Veen and FMJD member of honor Henk Boers.
The match
will be played over 12 games with the standard FMJD time schedule 50
moves for
2 hours followed by 25 moves per hour.
If
necessary there will be one or two days of tie breaks.
The first
day of tie breaks will be with rapid games and blitz
games and the second day of tie breaks
with micro matches with the Georgiev system: both players will get 20
minutes
plus some seconds Fischer time system for an unlimited number of games.
The
first player who wins a game (by normal result or on the clock) wins
the micro
match.
The World
title match will be won by the player who is the first to win 3 games
(normal
games, rapid or blitz games, or micro matches).
During the
match two days of rest will be scheduled.
